*CLOSED* Tiramisù DeliShoes, Milan

Tiramisù and shoes, good food and wine, all under the same roof... do I need to say more???
I had been curious about Tiramisù Delishoes since its opening a couple of months ago, and thanks to Zomato we got to try it. What's not to like of a place that has beautiful shoes on display and the first tiramisù bar in the world, where the pastry chef prepares your personalized tiramisù right in front of you?!

I was a bit skeptical because you know, sometimes you get a "Milanese trap" (as I call those places that hide mediocre food and service behind a cool and fancy decor) and in Brera - the quarter where TD is - there are other traps, but this didn't seem the case to me. We found a pretty place, yes, but with an excellent and warm service that we weren't expecting, and also surprisingly good food - we have to work on the portions though, 50 grams more of risotto or mascarpone have never hurt anyone :)
The place is the first concept store putting together food and fashion (surprisingly nobody had thought of that before...) getting inspiration from the great dessert bars of the world's top capitals and from the big fashion brands' showrooms.
Although we tried it for dinner, this not just a restaurant, it is, as I wrote, a tiramisù bar, where you can come any time of the day to create your own personalized tiramisù, choosing among ingredients like different kinds of mascarpone, biscuits, garnishes, etc. and watching while the pastry chef prepares it. It is also a shoes and accessories shop - some designed especially for this shop - (prices, I'm afraid, match the ones of big brands). It is also a bar where you can come for coffee during the day, or even to have some tapas at "aperitivo time".
This is how dinner works: you come (bookings advised but walk-ins are welcome), you sit - don't get distracted by the shoes! -, you order from the menù either single dishes or the tasting menus (which I recommend) - now you can check out the shoes! - , then you enjoy your dinner that will be brought and explained by the nice staff.
The food has a hint of Spain in it due to the background of the chef, who attended the Espai Sucre in Barcelona and it is an excellent mix of flavors. After we picked the pumpkin-based Seafood tasting menu (wine pairing included), we were greeted with an amuse-bouche, a chupito of pumpkin mousse with caramelized pumpkin seeds and a parmigiano biscuit. Then as a first course came the Calamari risotto with zaffron and passion fruit foam that for me was the winning dish of the night - so delicious with the perfect mix of fruity, sweet and salty - paired with a glass of bubbly Ferrari perle 2007.
As a main we had the monkfish served with cous cous, ginger and caramelized pumpkin, it looked pretty and it was also tasty (the tiny bits of pumpkin in the cous cous were a bit hard but good), nice pairing with the Clivi delle Venezie's ribolla gialla. Then came dessert, the tiramisù with coffee and caramelized banana was everything I expected in terms of taste, but with the nice surprise of the slush coffee, which gave it a fresh and original touch - paired with a good Saracco Moscato d'Asti and followed by a refreshing apple and rosemary extract chupito and mini marshmallows.
In all, a great dining experience that I hope to repeat soon!
