Here's some foodporn from Zoetry Villa Rolandi, don't drool over your keyboards or phones!
I remember I wrote in the Zoetry Casa del Mar in Los Cabos that those were the best meals we've ever had in a resort, but I thinks this time we have a new winner!
We love the Zoetry formula where everything is healthy and made to order, and while I missed a bit some greasy pastor tacos (can't help it!) it was overcompensated with the delicious dinners we had at Casa Rolandi and Le Métissage.
Casa Rolandi has been famous as the best place for quality dining in Isla Mujeres, and even now under the Zoetry name, it's still open to non-Zoetry guests (and I must say it gets booked up in the evenings) and keeps those high standards.
We had all our breakfasts and lunches here and there was no 'meh' dish, everything delicious, healthy and the staff was great, and those views (a glass of wine here at sunset is a must).
Some of the names of the dishes we tasted: Azteca eggs (like benedicts but with cactus, pico de gallo sauce and black beans), aguachile, ceviche, tuna, french toast, chilquiles, etc.
Le Métissage is the new fusion restaurant at Zoetry Villa Rolandi, Chef Daniel Muller and his team prepare a different seven-course fix menu with hints of Mexican and French flavors and a pretty decent house wines pairing (considering the difficulty of pairing spicy Mexican flavors to wines). Needless to say, we didn't have a bad bite here either.
As well as at the Casa Rolandi, spotless service, romantic atmosphere dining either poolside or surrounded by wines inside the restaurant.
Some of the names of the dishes we tasted: Tostada with marinated tuna, ginger sauce and serrano pepper; octopus with guajillo pepper, asparagus and wild rice; lamb with almonds, herbs, eggplant puré and three peppers sauce; cactus salad with jícama, tuna aguachile, duck carnitas on lettuce tacos, angus filet with green pepper sauce, etc... OK, I'd better finish this post or I'm the one who'll be drooling over the keyboard!
