Pesti Diszno, Budapest

Cute bistro nearby Budapest's opera house specializing in Hungarian classics and pork dishes.

Following an article in the New York Times, where Pesti Disznó was featured as an example of modern Hungarian food, we visited this place while in the neighborhood for a quick early dinner.
The atmosphere is surely a bistro one, dim lights, seating space outside in the summer, lots of wine in display. As the article says, the menu includes some Hungarian classics and they are surprisingly good, especially the Mangalica pork with bread dumplings and the duck breast with coriander rose-hip sauce.
Our dinner with these 2 specialties and 2/3 glasses of Hungarian red wine went for 9.200 HUF (about 30 euro). Great option for a pre- or post- opera dinner. They are also famous for their burgers.
