Buddha Bar Klotild Palace, Budapest

A great stay in this modern hotel hosted inside a beautiful historic building.
The cool Buddha Bar Hotel in Budapest is hosted inside the beautiful Klotild Palace, right off Vaci Utca, Budapest's main shopping street, right outside the Ferenc Ter metro stop and minutes away from the city's main sights.
The Klotild Palaces is a 1900 neo-baroque building, part of a complex of 2 twin buildings (the other one is located on the other side of the strett, but hasn't been cleaned and refurbished like this one). After its renovation in recent years, it opened as the Buddha Bar Hotel in 2012.
After reading several reviews online, we decided to give it a try, knowing of course that the inside was not going to match the façade. I must say that I'm not a fan of old-style charm hotels, I mean, of course they are beautiful but I prefer the comforts of modern style accommodations and this hotel provides them all, starting from the rooms.
Having booked through an online hotel booking service, we weren't sure of the type of room we were getting (among the hotel's various room types), so when we got there, we were sent to a Duplex Suite, divided on 2 floors: bathroom with shower, living room, tv and blind balcony on the first floor; bed, tv and small blind balcony on the top floor.
At first this 2-floor division sounded like a good idea with all the space and comfort, but after a while we got tired of having to use the stairs all the time (since this particular suite didn't have a second bathroom in the top floor, unlike others). However, the other room amenities made our stay very nice, like the Nespresso machine, the super comfortable bed, the home-theater-like sound system, the tv with integrated Buddha Bar music collection, etc.
A particular of these amenities is in the bathroom, mentioned already in almost all reviews due to the wc: yes, it is heated, it washes, it dries and it even lights up when you turn off the lights!
Our room fee included breakfast and we were glad it did, probably we wouldn't have paid it if it wasn't included because it's not cheap but it is a great value because besides the buffet that includes cold cuts, falafel, salad, fruit and (few) sweets, you get to choose a dish from the menu, and those eggs benedict that I had everyday were just perfect!
Breakfast was served in the bar, but the hotel also has a cool restaurant/lounge bar (Buddha Bar, that is), we didn't have time (or space in our bellies) to eat there but judging from the pictures it's also worth trying. Plus the decor is amazing.
We found some time to visit the spa and it was fine, nothing extraordinary but it was OK for relaxing a bit in the jacuzzi, the sauna and the steam bath (no pool).
